In line with Rotary International’s 2026–27 theme, “Create Lasting Impact,” the Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur (RCMEL) organized a Venue Change Meeting at the historic Patan Museum on 12 July 2026. The event brought together a remarkable number of club members, visiting Rotarians, and their family members (in total 36 attendees) offering a unique blend of fellowship, learning, and cultural appreciation.

The program commenced clubs’ regular week meeting agenda followed by a thought-provoking Classification Talk by Rtn. Badan Lal Nyachhon on Cultural Heritage, highlighting the importance of preserving Nepal’s rich traditions, architecture, and history. He emphasized that while modernization is essential for progress, it should complement – not diminish – our cultural identity.

Participants then toured the Patan Museum, where they experienced firsthand the richness of Nepal’s artistic and historical legacy. The visit sparked meaningful discussions on the need to preserve our heritage and inspired members to become advocates for protecting the cultural treasures that define our nation.

Members and guests highly appreciated the President’s initiative to move beyond a conventional meeting format and create an experience that combined Rotary fellowship with cultural awareness. More than just a venue change, the program encouraged reflection, strengthened relationships, and truly created a lasting impact by reinforcing our shared responsibility to preserve Nepal’s cultural heritage for future generations.
