Dear Rotarian Members,

It is a great honour and privilege to serve as the President of the Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur. Since its inception in 2000, our club has continually grown and thrived, thanks to the trust and support of our dedicated members. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, and I am confident that together we will steer this club towards even greater success.

Our annual calendar is populated with a diverse array of activities that underscore our commitment to service. We have our regular Sunday morning meetings, enriching discussions with esteemed guest speakers each month, and fostering fellowship through various events. Monthly board meetings and committee sessions ensure alignment with our strategic objectives. Our ongoing flagship projects in waste management, cultural preservation, promotion of ethics, and the four-way test remain pivotal to our mission.

Aligned with the goals set forth by Rotary International President Stephanie A. Urchick and our District Governor Rajendra Man Sherchan, we are committed in our pursuit of impactful initiatives that address critical societal needs. From securing global and district grants to engaging in local endeavours such as the girls’ sanitation project, improvements for schools catering to differently abled individuals, tree planting campaigns, and community library projects, our focus remains resolutely on meaningful service.

I encourage each of our members to sustain their support and contribute generously to our foundation. Your active involvement and unwavering dedication are the catalysts propelling our collective success. Let us also endeavour to expand our membership, welcoming new friends into our Rotary family to amplify our community impact.

Rotary embodies the spirit of action and collaboration; together, we can achieve our mission. It serves as an excellent platform for networking and fostering enduring friendships, while also enabling us to serve the less fortunate in our society. I extend a warm invitation to all Rotarians and guests to join us in our regular weekly meetings, where we can connect, exchange ideas, and together, contribute meaningfully to our society through our collective efforts.

Yours in service,

Pooja Pandey

Dear fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors for the commencement of the Rotary Year 2024-25. My best wishes go out to all club leaders and members for a successful tenure ahead, following the completion of a productive Rotary Year 2023-2024.

Throughout the past year, Rotary International, District 3292, and all Rotary Clubs have diligently served our communities through various humanitarian initiatives.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to share my thoughts and happiness through the district’s official website and mobile app. These platforms serve as reliable sources of Rotary-related information for District 3292.

The Rotary International President for RY 2024-2025, Stephanie A. Urchick, has called upon members to recognize and amplify our organization’s ability to save lives. She unveiled the 2024-25 presidential theme, “The Magic of Rotary,” urging members to infuse every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member with this transformative magic.

As Rotarians, we engage in service projects aimed at aiding communities in need, thereby positively impacting the lives of those facing hardship. The leadership roles within Rotary, although spanning just one year, have the potential to be life-changing when we harness the capabilities of our teams and club members. Let us unite in our efforts towards enhancing humanitarian services.

I trust that all clubs within District 3292 will strive wholeheartedly to achieve the objectives of the presidential theme and district goals.

Yours in Rotary,

Rajendra Man Sherchan
District Governor, RY 2024-2025

Stephanie A. Urchick

Rotary is at its best when we foster a sense of inclusion and belonging in our clubs. In fact, I would go so far as to say that belonging is The Magic of Rotary itself.

With a focus on inclusivity and belonging, it is easier to be united in a common purpose. When we are committed to one another and focused on our goals, we are most effective.

Rotary’s Action Plan can help. The Action Plan comes with tools you can use to collect feedback, assess your club’s strengths and weaknesses, and address challenges.

The world is changing, and our clubs can’t afford to stand still. But the changes we make need to be consistent and strategic — building on one another toward a greater vision. The Action Plan can help you work toward that vision and create effective change within your club. Following the Action Plan and addressing suggestions from the community will go a long way to fostering the sense of belonging we want all Rotary members to feel in their clubs.

That’s why expanding our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is so important. Committing ourselves to each other’s well-being is the first step to expanding our reach, allowing us to spread Positive Peace in these troubled times.

Peacebuilding is one of our top priorities, and one of the most effective ways we can build peace is with our Rotary Peace Fellowships, through which peace and development professionals learn how to prevent and end conflict.

We offer the fellowships through our Rotary Peace Centers at leading universities around the globe, where more than 1,800 Rotary Peace Fellows have graduated. And thanks to a $15.5 million gift from the Otto and Fran Walter Foundation, we can continue supporting peacebuilders in more regions with the next peace center at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul.

Opening another peace center is a monumental achievement, and it is my great honor to invite you to celebrate at next year’s Rotary Presidential Peace Conference at the Istanbul center. The three-day conference 20-22 February will highlight the many ways our family of Rotary advances peacebuilding. Registration for the conference is officially open. I hope to see you there.

The 2025 Rotary Presidential Peace Conference has great potential for our peacebuilding efforts — but only if we have your support.

The truth is, we’re not going to bring peace to the world, end polio, or grow membership by waving a wand and saying some funny words. It’s up to you. You create the magic with every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member inducted.

I love my Rotary family and I know you do too. That’s why I know that together, we can make every club and district simply irresistible. This year, let us change the world by embracing The Magic of Rotary.

Our guiding Principles

The Rotary 4-way test

In 1932, Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor created the Four-Way Test, a code of ethics adopted by rotary 11 years later. The Test, which has been translated into more then 100 languages.

Of the things we think, say or do
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
