True to the spirit of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Mount Everest, Lalitpur, successfully carried out a meaningful humanitarian activity in collaboration with Nepal ENT Center and Rotary Club of Patan East supported by Rotary Club of Chatswood International, NSW Australia, bringing hope, confidence, and smiles to patients in need.

This initiative was driven by a simple yet powerful objective: to improve the quality of life of individuals by providing them with an essential Hearing-aid device that would help them reconnect with the world around them. Through careful planning, coordination, and teamwork, Rotary members worked closely with medical professionals to ensure that every beneficiary received proper screening, fitting, and guidance.

On the day of the event (January 17, 2026), screened patients were welcomed with warmth and care. Under expert supervision from the Nepal ENT Center team, each patient was evaluated and supported throughout the process. Rotary members and volunteers including RCC Khokana were actively involved, ensuring smooth coordination and comfortable experience for all.

The true success of the program was reflected not in numbers, but in emotions. As patients wore the device, their faces lit up with joy—smiles that spoke louder than words. For many, it was a life-changing moment, restoring not just functionality, but confidence, connection, and happiness. Witnessing these moments reaffirmed the purpose of Rotary service and the power of collective action.

Rtn. Timila, VP RC Mount Everest, and Rtn. Nitu Baranwal, IPP RC Patan East, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teams from Nepal ENT Center for their invaluable support, noting that the radiant smiles of the patients were the greatest reward of the initiative. They also emphasized the importance of sharing this journey as a success story—one that captures how compassion, partnership, and commitment can create a lasting impact.

This project stands as a proud example of what Rotary can achieve when clubs and partners come together with a shared vision. More than an activity, it was a reminder that even a small effort, when driven by empathy, can bring relentless smiles and meaningful change to the community.

 

As a part of Service Project towards social responsibility, on 23rd November 2025, members of Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur contributed financial donations to Shree Bhadrakali Secondary School, Bhumlikot-6, Gorkha. The School currently has 105 male students and 102 female students. Most students have to walk 3 to 4 everyday to get to the School and study. Due to this reason, the number of enrolled students were reducing every year. But since last few years, the School management has started a small residential facility within the School vicinity, to help students who need to walk long distance everyday. The
school is providing rooms and meals everyday to the needy students and the impact was clearly visible. The no. of students has steadily increased and the students passed with good grades.

Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur is very proud to support this School in Gorkha, so that the needy students can cut the “walking to school” time, concentrate on studies and receive quality education without having to think of boarding and meals. Our donation would help the students towards their everyday meals and other residential facilities. The donation cheque was handed over to the School Management at the School premises, by our Club president Rtn. Ravi Lamichhane and Club Secretary Rtn. Sandeep Amir Kansakar, in the presence of Assistant Governor Dist.3292, Rtn. Gautam Shrestha.

 

 

Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur successfully organized an “Ear listening capability screening Camp” on 22nd November 2025 at the premises of Shree Rurayanee Secondary School, Khokana, Lalitpur. A total of 108 residents of Khokana were screened for various ear and listening problems. The local residents ranging from age 5 to 91 years were benefitted from the Camp, of whom 80% were senior citizens above the age of 70. A total of 39 residents had hearing loss problem, 16 had discharging ear problem, 7 had perforation problems, a number of them had impacted wax and others required simple medication. The screening
as well as medicines were distributed free of cost. A follow-up camp will be organized after three weeks, where free hearing aid devices will be distributed to the residents requiring the device.

Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur sincerely appreciates the expert technical support of Nepal ENT Center, Pulchowk, Lalitpur and the team of Dr. Chandan Baranwal, Dr. Prajjwol Pathak, Audiologist Susan Dahit for making this screening camp a great success. We would also like to thank our partner club -Rotary Club of Patan East for their valuable support, local coordination assistance from the office of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward no.21, RCC Khokna and Interact Club of Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School, along with the management of Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School for providing us the venue for the Camp.

 

Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur, along with Network of Rotary Clubs of Lalitpur (NRCL), organized a program to celebrate “Global Ethics Day 2025” on 10th October 2025 with the annual theme “Ethics Re-envisioned” .

Rotary clubs observe Global Ethics Day by holding events, such as talks on the Four-Way Test and ethics in business, to promote ethical decision-making and integrity within their communities and organizations.

Tree Plantation for a Century for Sustainability of  the Karunamaya Bungadyo (Rato Matsendranath) Chariot Festival 

Rotary Club of Mount Everest (RCMEL) partnering together with Guthi Sansthan Lalitpur, Karunamaya Bungadyo Guthi (Barahi, Yanwa, Gha Ku, Bosin),  Lalitpur Centre for Culture Conservation, Multi Lab (P).Ltd., Ace the Himalaya with support of the District Forest office-lalitpur and Dalchoki Forest Users Community is preparing to conduct Tree Plantation Program in Dalchoki, View tower Area ,Konjyosom Rural Municipality, Lalitpur from 9:00 am onwards.
